Important Information regarding Beneficial Ownership!

Effective January 1st, 2024 the Financial Crime Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has recently finalized a requirement that businesses themselves report their beneficial ownership information directly to FinCEN.

  • Existing Businesses: Currently registered with the Secretary of State will have from January 1st, 2024 through January 1st, 2025 to register their business.
  • New Businesses: In 2024 will have 90 calendar days after registration with the Secretary of State to register their business.

Please note that Marion Center Bank staff are unable to provide advise in preparing these reports, as it relates to the new BOI requirements. We recommend you reach out to your legal team or tax professional for guidance.

FinCEN has many resources available to help your business navigate these new requirements. The link below are for the Beneficial Ownership Frequently Asked Questions and Small Business Resources where you will find a Small Entity Compliance Guide.
